World Health Innovation Summit (W.H.I.S): A platform for all to inspire, innovate and share knowledge to improve healthcare. Our focus is to help the local communities work together for health, wellness and mindfulness while stimulating economic growth.
During the weekend of the “Blue Economy” in Agiannis Kynourias September of 2015, http://www.worldhealthinnovationsummit.org/blog/2015/09/30/the-meraki-people-gareth-presch Mr. Gareth Presch Founder of W.H.I.S. and Ms. Christiana Gardikioti creator of «the MERAKI PEOPLE» decided to bring the SUMMIT to Greece. They wanted to create appropriate conditions in order to render the 24 villages of Mt Parnonas, Health and Wellness hubs. People there will be working “IN and FOR Nature” aiming to gain a better HEALTH and WELLNESS born by the collective prosperity they are engaged in while stewarding the unique biodiversity of the region and redefining rural Greece.
W.H.I.S. GREECE will be happening in the village of KARYES LAKONIAS under the auspices of the Region of Peloponnesus & the Pan Arcadian Federation the 21st – 22nd – 23rd of October 2016. Inspirational International Speakers will be presenting the collaboration platform of W.H.I.S where doctors, patients, health professionals, local governments and local communities co-design programs and ACTIONS for a more efficient and cost-effective Health system so ALL can benefit. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear key influencers like Dr Gunter Pauli , Dr. Amir Hannan – G.P and Chairman of W.H.I.S., Mr. Sheridan Tatsuno – Silicon Valley Strategist, Ms. Désirée Driesenaar – Blue Economy Engineer and Systems Designing Advisor for Local development, Ms. Ivanka Milenkovic Founder of “Ekofungi” school, Dr. Nikos Katsaros p. President of the National Food Regulatory Body (EFET) and p. Scientific Director of the National Center for Scientific Research “DEMOKRITOS” as well as a plethora of International and National Medical, Scientific and Research officers and practitioners.
The rich cultural heritage and unique historical identity of the community will be presented through several engagements of the local cultural associations and clubs of the Region.

Health touches all sectors of daily lives: Education, transportation, agriculture and housing, waste management, energy, industry, city development, urbanism, water, nutrition to name only few.
The first event happened in Carlisle U.K and it had more than 25 local and international speakers and more than 23.700.000 twitter appearances and spearheaded a multitude of Health & Social Initiatives. For example the “Global Village for Mental Health” promotes and supports Research, positive mindset, fighting mental health disease and assumes a healthy life style as seen in (@GlobalVillageMH). It was implemented by Soni Cox (@sonicox), inspired by Deirdre Munro (@deirdremunro) and Patron Josh Quigley (@Tartan_Explorer)
TAKING ACTION AFTER THE SUMMIT
Ms Désirée Driesenaar will be conducting interactive BLUE and CIRCULAR ECONOMY seminars engaging the YOUTH of the villages so they can create enterprising circular economy activities for one week after the summit.
