Keith Thomas

Hi all,

I would like to say a few words about what #WHIS – World Health Innovation Summit – means to me.

Over the last four years I have created an online presence via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram which has allowed me to raise awareness about my ostomy, the operation and recovery. More recently I have set myself a 365 day “selfie challenge” which is essentially to raise money for the  Marie Curie charity in memory of a colleague and friend who died a few years ago.

Now I am just an ordinary “Joe Bloggs” in this massive online world so when this organisation, WHIS, show a genuine interest in what I do, it means that my message reaches all sorts of people across the world and starts to make a difference to them. Hundreds  of people start to take notice of what I have had to say and take show interest in what I am trying to do.

Gareth Presch makes a huge difference. If I have something to blog about, I mention it to Gareth and he is immediately supportive, sharing my blog immediately and it is being read across the world. The people at WHIS don’t just care about the “big fish” but real people like me and I am so grateful to them for giving me a voice.

Big thanks,

Keith Thomas.
