We’re about to publish our values and POD’s (WHIS Communities inspiring local innovation by sharing knowledge). We have the means and the technology to do this via social media.

WHISTalks – we have started to stream live talks from lived experiences. We’ve had myself and Martyn Blacklock our WHIS lead for Health, Wellness and Lifestyle give an update on our recent activities followed by Yvonne Newbold and Malcolm Cooper speak about stress management and caring responsibilities and on the 11th September we had the team from Uniti (An innovative electric car) in Sweden live.
Future WHISTalks will be streamed from London – Hala Jawad & Marvin Munzu #worldpharmacistday 25th September and we have streamed talks planned from global locations we’re currently developing (Uganda, USA, Ireland etc).
Our first summit in Carlisle boosted the local economy. We had 300 people visit the City over 2 days where we had local, national and international speakers attend (Including TedX speakers etc). It was a resounding success with over 23.7 million twitter impressions generated.

We’ll be back in Cumbria – March 2017)
WHIS create’s opportunities, WHIS supports our health services, WHIS stimulates innovation and build’s networks so we all win. This was recognised last week at the Carlisle Living Awards where I was nominated for the innovation award. The category was full of inspiration with Carlisle Youth Zone/Armstrong Watson and Tic Toc nominated. Johnathan Myers hosted the awards and when he read out my name I was stunned. The vision has become a reality and to be recognised in Carlisle means so much to me and my family.

None of this would be possible without my families support and I have to thank my wife Krista and two daughters along with my extended family for all their support. So grateful as without their support WHIS would not exist.
