The Future of Healthcare #CWIC17

We’re at the Cambridge Wireless International Conference – http://www.cambridgewireless.co.uk/annualconference/agenda/ talking about the future of healthcare and I’ll be outlining how the #WHIS supports our health services while creating community value.

Below is the explanatory note on WHIS. We have the opportunity to inspire, innovate and share knowledge so everyone wins.

Our model is based on giving back into our local communities and it can be applied anywhere in the World.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
“Together, We Inspire” – WORLD HEALTH INNOVATION SUMMIT – Federation (Local community networks with central support that have independence with internal affairs #togetherweinspire)

We want the best health care system in the world, we want the most efficient and effective system so everyone benefits.

How do we achieve this?

By working together, collaborating and sharing knowledge like never before to improve healthcare for all.

The World Health Organisation 1946 defines
health as a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity’.

The WHO determinants of health are:
– the social and economic environment
– the physical environment, and
– the persons individuals characteristics and behaviours

Our health services are under increasing pressure. Excessive pressure to provide effective health care continues to rise as our expectations do. We need innovative ideas to support our healthcare system and the World Health Innovation Summit provides a platform to share ideas and focus on solutions.

Our World Health Innovation Summit is a new innovative way of working together, providing a platform for all of us to openly share ideas and discover solutions together.

The World Health Innovation Summit is not just a conference or a meeting. It is about communities coming together to work together to improve health care for all, to network on a continuous basis. By supporting our communities, sharing knowledge, inspiring and innovating we as individuals and as a community benefit.

How?

By bringing patients, clinicians, managers, voluntary sector, education and businesses together to exchange knowledge, inspire and innovate together we all learn and our health service will benefit.

Health touches every sector:
Education, Transport, Food and Agriculture, Housing, Waste, Energy, Industry, Urbanisation, Water, Radiation, Nutrition (WHO)

In order to find solutions we need inspiration and innovation. WHIS is about each and every one of us helping to support our health services. In order to do that we need a platform for people to contribute and meet to share their knowledge and the World Health Innovation Summit (Federation) provides that platform to do this in a consolidated structured process and innovate solutions.

We as the World Health Innovation Summit team are committed to colloaorating so our communities benefit.

Our business model ensures our events and activities are accessible while providing opportunities through the WHIS Federation (Local community networks with central support that have independence with internal affairs #togetherweinspire) .

All we need to do is cover our costs. At the beginning I funded everything in relation to all expenditure for the World Health Innovation Summit and I done this because I believed that WHIS would have a wider impact to support our local communities.

We bring in revenue from community support, partnerships, sponsorships, digital sales, advisory services and a number of other commercial activities which means we can return money back into our local communities. Excess funding after our costs will go to local community projects.

Our first event was held in Carlisle, Cumbria in 2016 and we had over 25 local, national and international speakers from our communities come together to improve health care for all. We had over 23.7 million twitter impressions and numerous health and social care initiatives kick started as a result of the summit. For example the Global Village Mental Health initiative promoting research, positivity, evidence, kindness, support and collaboration in mental health (@GlobalVillageMH) by Soni Cox (@sonicox) inspired by Deirdre Munro (@deirdremunro), Ambassador Josh Quigley (@Tartan_Explorer)

We have held 4 summits now – Greece, Thailand and Cumbria (2016,2017) and we have plans to host similar events around the world to share knowledge and improve healthcare for all. (Manchester, Manila – June 2017)

We have supporting programmes running alongside the summits such as WHISKids (Health, Wellness and mindfulness for the next generation) and WHISatwork (Stress management within the workplace), WHISSeniors (Elderly care to improve quality of life). WHISGreen – energy, waste and water.

All our programmes support communities while looking for solutions to ease pressure from our health and social care services (Prevention).

We have community ambassadors and we are delighted to be working with such inspiring individuals who work diligently within their local communities.

Our work is local, national and international and we are tackling societies issues through collaboration. We have projects developing in neurodegenerative disease (Early detection), stress management in the workplace through Big Heart Intelligence.

We are collaborator who look to bring solutions so our local communities benefit.

Our motto is “Together, We Inspire” and by working together we will inspire and deliver better healthcare. Our goals and vision support the 17 sustainable development goals as set by the United Nations.
