Journal is an experiment, so, to be honest, we haven’t fully planned how it will turn out. That is because we want you, the Blackpool Community to share it and shape it.
Journal is a community web portal, but then again it’s a cool story work project, but maybe it is a piece of citizen journalism, it’s a lot of things, or it will be.
It’s sparse at the moment, but if you want to, you, I, all of us can use Journal as a community voice, to share recovery story, talk about mental health, write, blog or film about community politics. It is a place to showcase great projects, ideas, events and news. It is or will be a library of self-help tools.
But first and foremost for a community to change we need to know two things what is the problem and what assets do we have that could change things.
So we are on the hunt for all of Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde’s community groups, organisations, social businesses, good causes, projects, support groups all of them every single one. We want to put them all in one place then promote them, tell their story and help build a better Blackpool. It’s good to know about things as you never know when you may be in a crisis.
Journal has been made super simple to use. You can share anything from Journal and you can share anything to Journal. You can upload directly to the site including any kind of text document, images, photos, graphic design files, artwork, photojournals, blogs, film, audio and video.
So how can you help? first please share journal to any group no matter how big or small that works in or around Blackpool. Let’s put them all on one map. The groups can be the largest of charities to the smallest most informal things. All cultures, faith and beliefs welcome as are animal projects also.
Next, if you have a story, a piece of news, a self-help tool or an event anything that you want to share either to promote or to raise awareness then simply upload to Journal
Just to note we will also be interviewing and filming both individuals and groups so sign up to our newsletter on the website to be first to find out more x
