She can also offer relaxing massages after a hard training session.

Janet Richards  -

As Janet was approaching her 46th birthday she became increasingly aware that she had to make some changes to her life before she became a candidate for an early demise! She had heard about yoga and knew that it was supposed to be good for getting you fit, but more importantly for calming the mind and so she decided to give it a go. It really helped and as time went by she felt better and better. In April 2013 she went to India and completed 300hrs teacher training with Sushumna Yoga in Goa, and she is an accredited Yoga Alliance Teacher. This experience was an amazing one and taught her much about herself and took her yoga practice to another level. She firmly believes that practising yoga has had such a positive effect on her health and well-being and would recommend it to everyone. She has continued to develop her yoga practice with additional training from Karen Kirkness, Lucy Crawford Scott and Josh Summers. Yoga can change your life and you are never too old to start!

Martin Scott  -

Martin has been a certified holistic therapist working internationally and nationally for 15 years and a certified yoga teacher for 7 years

To further his knowledge and training martin has undergone intensive yoga studies in Indian ashrams and also trained in traditional eastern healing arts in Asia passed on by hill tribe healers, buddhist monks and wise masters, which is what is used in his therapies.

Clare Bevington  -

Clare has long been fascinated with the mind-body connection. She studied Psychology and History at University of Edinburgh and graduated 20 years ago with a Masters focusing on understanding women's reproductive experiences. She has also studied and worked voluntarily in the counselling sector and hold a certificate of counselling skills from the University of Cumbria.

She first discovered yoga seventeen years ago whilst pregnant with her first child and came to appreciate its wonderful therapeutic benefits. She found herself looking forward to class and enjoying exercising for the first time since childhood. Over the following years she invested her energies in raising three children, developing property and studying, but kept up her yoga practice on a fairly ad-hoc basis. In 2010 she was introduced to Nia and Aerial yoga and this re-kindled her excitement and commitment. She lost 2 stone of post-baby weight and was hooked!

In class she hopes to cultivate an environment in which we each feel encouraged to develop our awareness so that we begin to move and breathe more ‘mindfully’. Moving our body mindfully and for pleasure creates habits that build sustainable strength, fitness and flexibility. When we move in ways that stimulate both our body and our mind we are able to reconnect with, restore and balance ourselves, nurturing our individual potential towards health and growth. Engaging our awareness enables us to create a space amidst the demands of daily life where we can rediscover our sense of playfulness, openness and curiosity. In this way we begin to discover a sense of joy and ease that enhances our quality of life and expands our Well-Being.

Julie Tooke Just be you

My name is Julie Tooke and I began my own personal journey 5 years ago. I have now started my own company offering self-discovery breaks for women.
Women are the greatest nurturers and give to all. Who takes care and nurtures us especially when life becomes difficult?
I wanted to offer a self-discovery break that signposts you to self-awareness and improvement.

In my working life I have a banking and predominantly sales and marketing background and I am also a qualified Remedial Massage therapist.

I was married at 30 years old, had my daughter at 35 and divorced at 37. I found myself treading through treacle in rented accommodation and I was then made redundant from my well paid part-time job...now I had no money to add to the list. Oh happy days!

I desperately needed time out, but I had nowhere to go on holiday. I needed to feel safe and nurtured and I wanted space to lick my wounds.

From the days of being a single mum I always wanted to do something just for women, something that gives women time to find themselves again, equip them with tools and provide encouragement to help increase self-esteem and self-confidence. That in a nutshell is how the seed was sown!

I personally endorse the integrity and professionalism of these inspirational ladies. Through their help I now have greater self-belief and more self-confidence and I also enjoy good health with more vibrant energy. Happily things are much improved now and I even married again. I realise how important it is to make time for myself, without feeling guilty, and I have learned how to enjoy each and every day.

Clare Harris  -

Clare wants to help you bridge the gap of where you are and where you want to be on your journey to wellness.

Clare believes in the power of holistic health work. Her philosophy is based on a holistic approach that health is not only a physical state but mental, emotional and spiritual too. Good health is dependent on equilibrium in life. In modern society, so many pressures and demands lead us to feeling off kilter or out of balance. Regular treatments can help you help connect with all these elements and leave you feeling in control and grounded. She first qualified in Reiki over twenty years ago and everyday feels like a new day with the ever changing energy, In 2004 she began her long love affair with reflexology and the amazing effects it can have. She followed this up with further qualifications in Massage, Aromatherapy, Indian head massage, Hot stone therapy and she is currently training in advance meditation teaching certificate. While serving in The Royal Army Veterinary Corps she qualified in animal holistic health. She admits to having a little bit of an obsession with the function and structure of the body and her main aim through all the therapies she provides a truly holistic therapy working with the mind body and spirit is to enable clients to reach their full potential.

Liz Cecilia -

Liz is a sound therapist. Sound therapists believe that we are all made up of different energy frequencies. They use sound frequencies to interact with these, thus attempting to rebalance the body's energy. Sound has been used as a healing or calming tool for thousands of years. Himalayan singing bowls (standing bells that "sing") have been used throughout Asia for thousands of years in prayer and meditation, and are now used to promote relaxation and wellbeing. Sound therapy is said to help not only physical illness, but also help balance the emotions and quieten a busy mind. Most people feel calm and relaxed following treatment. For some, this feeling will last several days. You may also be given exercises to practise between treatments.

Caroline (Cazz) Nash

Cazz is a contemporary crafts person specialising in ceramics. All her work is handmade from her workshop in rural Carlisle, Cumbria.

She has always been a crafty-bod. She studied Contemporary Applied Arts at both Degree and Masters level at Cumbria Institute of the Arts, graduating her Masters in 2006. Since then she has always worked within the ceramics world, teaching and demonstrating and setting up my own handmade ceramics business. She loves what she does and she does what she loves! Her workshops are often described as therapeutic and we wanted to offer this experience as a way of connecting with nature and having fun.

She is inspired by being ‘in-and-out’ of the garden. Her work is designed to be fun and often functional, with a quirky style and vintage feel. She loves anything ‘weird’ and ‘offbeat’. She is a very keen gardener and a collector of ‘stuff and things’!

Peter Whitaker

Peter has had a varied career, ranging from a farmer to cabinet maker and now a tea room owner and art teacher. He discovered his passion for painting later on in life and continues to enjoy developing his skill as well as teaching small classes. He finds that painting is therapeutic both in the process of painting and in showing those who feel they can’t paint that perhaps they can! It’s so empowering and wonderful to enable people to realise and begin to develop a new way to express their creativity.

Pauline Richards

Pauline offers a wide range of energy based natural complementary therapies in Carlisle and the South Lakes. Some of the different healing modalities are ground-breaking and offer a broader perspective to understanding your health and wellbeing.

Many of her clients explain they have come to a place in their lives where they feel powerless and are affected greatly by the circumstances around them. Some clients feel stressed and don’t know where to turn or feel they need to make changes in their lives and are not sure how. This changes when we realise that our realities are created within us and how we feel about ourselves and our life will greatly determine the outcome.

Rather than taking a tablet to dull the symptoms of issues arising, Wishing Well Therapies is able to embrace every element of ourselves and to further understand and heal from within. The sessions allow a greater sense of freedom and empowerment that come from taking the reigns of your own experience of the world!
